Weyes BloodことNatalie Meringはカリフォルニア州サンタモニカ出身のミュージシャンだ。音楽一家の中で育った彼女は、ゴスペルや聖歌隊で歌い始め、クラシックやルネッサンス期の音楽に強い影響受け、8才からギターを始めた。2011年、『The Outside Room』を自主リリース。Mexican Summer と契約後、2014年には『The Innocents』、2016年には『Front Row Seat to Earth』をリリース。The Guardianで5/5を獲得するなど高い評価を獲得した。Sub Popへ移籍し、2019年4月には『Titanic Rising』をリリース。アルバムは100以上のメディアで同年の年間ベスト・アルバムの1枚に選出された。2022年には目下の最新作『And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow』をリリース。Pitchforkでベスト・ニュー・アルバムを獲得し、こちらも高い評価を博した。他のアーティストへのコントリビューション多く、Father John Misty、Lana Del Rey、John Cale等の楽曲にヴォーカルとして参加している。
