かつてはPhoebe BridgersもメンバーであったHaley Dahlのバンド、Sloppy Janeは、そのPhoebeのレーベル、Saddest Factoryと契約。ニュー・アルバム『Madison』をリリースする。Haley Dahlと彼女の21人のバンドメイトは、ウェスト・ヴァージニア州のロストワールド洞窟で『Madison』をレコーディングした。アルバム全体が洞窟で録音されたのは初めての事だった。これは、非常に激しい別れをきっかけに生まれたレコードで、洞窟だけがそれを作り上げるのにふさわしい場所だった。収録されるそれぞれの曲で、彼女は誰かに別れを告げようとしている。洞窟はDahlにとって永遠の概念を表しているが、単なるメタファーではない。それはレコードの構造上、完全に不可欠なもので、まさに楽器として機能している。『Madison』を大きさでカテゴライズするのは困難だ。「成長にあわせて大きすぎる服を買う子供のように感じた。このアルバムは将来、自分自身がなるべき誰かを私に与えてくれる、ということに価値を感じていた」とDahlは言う。『Madison』は壮大なジェスチャーで、その過程で自身を成長させる巨大な愛に対しての声明なのだ。
